Affirmations

I have tried numerous affirmations for years and have never made them work for me. In this process I have struggled with the concepts of positive thinking and faith. I knew something was wrong with the affirmations I used and many others used, but I could not get a handle on why.

On August 1st 2010 I came up with the affirmation below that I believe is the correct pattern for an affirmation. There is sufficient proof that the mind of man has tremendous powers as proven in the water experiments by Dr. Emoto and other various experiments. Every success book capitalizes on these truths. Yet something was wrong.

I knew the basic reason was that they were putting the mind of man ahead of God, but I could not seem to come up the way to do it right. I knew that the devil has power to give anyone who worships him money and worldly success.

I began to assume a person only acquired power with an affirmation through either God or the devil and that man had little to do with it. Yet scripture, Dr. Emoto's and other experiments suggested there is a separate power within man that is independent of either God or the devil.

So I began to determine that this separate power within man has certain limits and can increase by following either God or the devil. Further I have concluded that man's power is not power in achieving or accomplishment but in choosing to align him or herself with either God or the devil. Thus man's so called free will, free choice or freedom to choose is his primary power. Second that man's thoughts create a positive or a negative environment within ones own body and even has power to influence his surroundings. This means that the universe has certain laws based on positive vs negative and man aligns himself with one or the other.

I find adequate support of this in the knowledge that everything in this world has an opposite; good vs. evil, love vs. hate and on and on. I find further evidence in the laws of the universe which also have opposites, such as; light vs darkness, buoyancy vs gravity. positive and negative nuclear components within atoms and on and on.

One could then say God or the devil are simply beings of light or darkness and that they are bound by the laws of the universe. Some may think this diminishes the power of God, I prefer to think it is that God has the wisdom, knowledge, understanding and self control to harness or create the laws of the universe and then align Himself with light, love and goodness. Where the opposite is true with the devil, who aligns himself with a few of the laws of the universe only to archive darkness, hate and vengeance on man and God.

The real test of life is that the positive thinking theories are afraid to concede that that man is not in control. This I believe is the devils greatest tool against those who want to do or be good. If he can convince good people that giving up their mental control is foolish he automatically captures their mind. In other words the positive vs negative laws of the universe and God are indisputably the only way man can achieve anything. That is a bold and unacceptable statement to most people who are completely convinced they are able to achieve without God or the devil. It is a concept Christ taught and can be equated to being able to completely surrender ones self to God and Christ without demanding or making conditions. it is the principles taught by Christ when he uses the examples of the lily and the sparrow. It is the principle in the verse that says,

For years I assumed or wanted the interpretation of this verse to mean I could be a good person and God would give me financial success. I could not comprehend what, take no thought meant. How could Christ say take no thought, did that mean do not plan or think positive thoughts?  I believe it means follow God with your heart set on keeping His commandments without expectation. In other words the opposite to, I will follow God and He better reward me with money, and do it now! Those who teach the incorrect principles of faith promote the principles that actually attach to the devil's ability to pay anyone who will worship him. The devil is only too happy to reward anyone immediately with money who misuses the principles of faith. See faith  Remember one only has to stop following God or in other words turn away from God to automatically worship the devil.

Note that in this scripture Christ lumps the devil and mammon or money as the same. Now money is not bad, it builds temples just as it builds saloons. It is the pride and addictions of money taking greater preference in our lives that submission to God.

Below I have printed my new affirmation that I believe meets all the conditions of the previous discussion. Each phrase will be on the left with an explanation on the right.

Note; other than purifying my body with light and health so that I might better serve nothing is asked for or expected. It is a simple statement saying I accept and believe these powers are free gifts from God. it is saying I willingly accept what ever God will give me with an attitude of faith and gratitude with the only purpose to follow the first two commandments. Nothing is demanded or required. Only trust that God and Christ have the love and power to provide what ever I need to serve. That I accept and allow my mind and body to receive without expectations beyond the love and light of God.

This affirmation is on the premise that God is light, love and power and if I align myself with Him and these things I allow my body to be healthier and my mind more able to think and act for good.

Thus there are three powers. God the devil and our power with God being light and love, the devil being darkness and hate, and man's power being choice and giving permission to either God or the devil to enter his body and mind. Therefore man's power is not creating or accumulating but giving permission to one or the other then the one he chooses will reward him as they choose, not as man thinks he chooses.
